Goldie came to us from Tucson on October 29th with a compound fracture of her right tarsal bone. She apparently broke it on Oct 21 but not given up to an adoption group until the 26th. The severity of the break and the fact that it was compound was not discovered until she got to the vet's office in Tucson on Monday the 26th. Once the severity of the break was known and the AZ vet discussed amputation as a good possibility the Tucson adoption group contacted GreySave. Together we decided to get Goldie over to a very experienced orthopedic vet in CA. Thanks to Jay & Stephanie she is at the vet's and comfortable. They believe they can save her leg but it may require two surgeries. She will need a medical foster home that lives close to Irvine and can take her to the vets at least weekly for several months.
