We were notified yesterday that the pet kennel at the Caliente racetrack in Tijuana’s had 25+ greyhounds waiting to come back to the states. In a joint effort, 4 of the southern and northern greyhound groups are pulling together to get as many out as possible this coming Saturday. GreySave will be combining forces with Fast Friends at their La Habra Heights complex to process their and our greyhounds. The other groups helping to clear the pet kennel on Saturday will be the Greyhound Adoption Center in La Mesa, Homestretch Greyhound adoption in Fillmore and Greyhound Friends for Life in Kensington.
Eleven were greeted and giving the GreySave Homecoming treatment on Saturday the 13th. Three had come to us with broken legs between our May and June homecoming. They are Crissy, JR and Vanna. Eight more came in straight from the track on Saturday morning. They were Base, Earl, Jetta, Maxine, Poppy, Wanda, Will, and Zebra. You can find out more about the new hounds near the bottom of the Adoptables page. Since they have broken legs Crissy, JR, and Vanna are at the bottom of the page in the Medical Hold section. We'll add their profiles to the Adoptables page as their pet personalities emerge. You can see how their day goes from the time we get them from the track at The Last Lap.
