GreySave's Race to the Park  - The annual Race to the Park Greyhound gathering is our largest fundraiser and social event. This year it will be held on May 28th at the Crescenta Valley Regional Park, 3901 Dunsmore Avenue, La Crescenta, CA 91214 from 10 am to 3pm.

It is a great day at a shady park tucked away from busy streets and traffic. This event is a make your own taco bar (including veggie taco's), with a large salad bar, great yummy deserts and drinks. Some of you are aware, that again this year, there are rumors that the Tucson track is closing permanently.  There is a bill going through the AZ state legislature concerning its really and most probably closing this time but on what the date is apparently is not yet decided.  Seems like it could be anytime from mid-June (after 100 days of racing) to the end of December.  We have been asked if we could take some greys from Tucson even though we now primarily take our dogs from the Caliente track.  But greys in need are greys in need!  

At this point there are close to 500 greyhounds at the Tucson track so GreySave has decided to help some of the greys no longer running to get off the track sooner as opposed to waiting to the final push. So if you are someone who wants to really help the hounds of Tucson then please consider fostering one so we can keep the Caliente hounds covered.  If you can help please let Sandy know.  We are expecting 8 from Tucson and points east to be part of our next Homecoming probably in a few weeks.  

Check them out!!  GreySave just put up the official "glamor" pictures of the 14 new hounds that came in from Caliente on April 2nd plus the 4 that came in broken two weeks ago.  Once the pictures areas great as the hounds!! 

However, not long after the last 14 hounds arrived and settled into their foster homes we were called by a kennel operator in Tucson and she asked if we could take some of her hounds.  She believes the Tucson track will be closing soon, probably before the rumored December date.  So we will be bringing in hounds from AZ in the not too distant future.  These kids will need foster homes too.  

​What a crazy situation hounds coming in from Caliente at rapid speed and Tucson closing.  Anyone say they could foster?  Just keep us in mind as the flood of hounds is on its way.
