GreySave's Race to the Park - May 25th 2024
GreySave's Race to the Park festival will be held on Saturday May 25th - This years Race to the Park will bring back the popular Bonnet contest. We will also have our unique fun favorite, the greyhound carnival. This May's meal we will include our popular chicken, carnitas and vegan tacos, salad, home made dessert bar, water and soda. Besides the Bonnet contest and carnival there will be greyhound themed auctions items, raffles, and a nail trim booth. Plus there will be plenty of time to rest and socialize with your greyhound friends.
As new information on the Race to the Park and sign ups comes up we will publish it on our Facebook pages plus through our e-mail system. But in the meantime, if you want more information about the Bonnet contest, carnival booths, to donate an auction item, or to volunteer see the named contacts below. To help at the carnival booth or find out more about how you can help contact Heather at [email protected] -- to donate to the silent auction contact Laurel at [email protected] -- to donate a great dessert contact Chuck at [email protected]
This springs Race to the Park event will be held at Crescenta Valley Regional Park, 3901 Dunsmore Avenue, La Crescenta, CA 91214 from 10 am to 3pm.
This event is a great day at a shady park tucked away from busy streets and traffic. This May event will mark our 18th year as a greyhound adoption group and we are looking forward to some Memorial day fun with our hounds and a greyt social time with our friends. On the day of the event don't forget to bring you e-mail confirmation, your Benefactor free event tickets, your hounds, blankets, chairs, dog pads, and most importantly don't forget your x-pens.
NOTE: This is an outdoor event and GreySave will be following the CA state & LA county Covid-19 protocol requirements in force at the time. This is GreySave fund raising event and requires quite a bit of planning and volunteer efforts. As such all ticket purchases are non-refundable.
Ticket prices are $30 for adults, $20 for children under 13 and Free for Benefactors who bring their GreySave free event passes. There are 3 lunch options: the chicken, carnitas or vegan selection. However you have 3 ticket choices -- one is for the adults, one for children under 13 and the 3rd for our Benefactors, bringing their "Thank You" tickets. PLEASE register and purchase your tickets on-line before the event because we will be preparing food based on the numbers tickets sold. The tickets will be going on sale in April and will close to on-line purchases on May 24th @ 3PM.
When you register for the event there are a couple questions we are asking as part of the ticket form including your dogs name and age and it would help us greatly for you to answer them. Though we will be shutting off the on-line ticket system around 3pm on May 24th so we can get the official tickets printed please do feel free to join us on the day of the event. There is always room for one more person or greyhound at our events. Just go to the registration table to get a ticket.
Check back here in April on how to secure your tickets. Though we do make lists of all the attendees, please bring your e-mail admission ticket or your Benefactor's free entry ticket to the registration table and we will exchange if for a GreySave event name tag and lunch ticket. We will only be doing on-line credit card ticketing services, no PayPal or Venmo again this year.

We Always Need Volunteers
For the Race to the Park to be a successful fundraiser GreySave will need plenty of volunteers to help us pull off a greyt day! Specifically, if you are one of those people who can come early and help set up, stay late to help clear everything away and/or help with events during the day we need you. Or if you can help by selling raffle tickets, taking greyt pictures, working in a carnival booth or making yummy cookies for desert we also would love to hear from you. This is a big fundraiser! It takes quite a bit of planning and then on-site execution and your help will enable one or our hardworking committee members to take a break and enjoy the day along with everyone else. If you can help, please contact Judy our special events volunteer coordinator. We would really appreciate your help!
We Also Need Tasty Deserts
GreySave's Race to the Park is known for its has greyt its scrumptious deserts. Our volunteers often pull out the old family recipe book and make their favorite deserts. If you have a flair for making a special deserts and would like to share please contact Chuck or Jennifer DeGraffenreid and let them know what you will bring and share.
