Stacey - Adopted and Living in Downtown Los Angeles
Racing Name: WW Stayin Alive
Age: 4.9 Sex: F Color: Red Fawn
Homecoming Ht: 25.5 Wt:59.1
Medium dog - Y, Small dog - N, Cat tolerant - TBD
At only 59 pounds, Stacey is both dainty and delightful. She shares her foster home with two female greyhounds and they all get along very well.
Stacey walks very well on the leash and will both pee and poop when out for a walk. Although she loves to walk with the pack, she is also happy to be the only dog on the walk. She thoroughly enjoys meeting all the neighbors and greats everyone enthusiastically. She alerts and becomes very interested when she spots a cat, small dog, or squirrel. However, she does not pull or jump and keeps all four feet on the ground as she stares at these “aliens.”
Stacey does not get on the furniture and prefers her bed on the floor. She likes her X-pen and is happy to retreat there to crunch up a few dog biscuits. A few attempts to chew on the corners of furniture have been made but she responds and pays attention to a sharp “No.”
Her appetite is healthy and she respects the other dogs at meal times. So far, she has only made a few attempts to steal human food and again understands a sharp “No.”
Stacey recently discovered the dog in the mirror and had lots of fun trying to play with it. Toys are mostly ignored but somedays she likes to play with a tennis ball. Zoom meetings, with all the voices, were a source of fascination for her. She insisted on checking out the computer and shoving her face into the screen. It was hilarious and a good meeting disrupter. The novelty has since worn off for her.
Stacey is happy to be left home alone while the other dogs are walked and has not shown any separation anxiety. She should be suitable for a variety of home environments, either as an only dog or with the company of a fellow canine.

Homecoming Ht: 27 Wt: 55.8

Just a few words about Dominika Egorova. She is a champ and so deserving a great retirement. GreySave picked her up when one of kennels at Caliente closed later in December. She is over 7 years old and has raced 484 times. The highest # of races by other greys we have seen was in the high 300's. Her last win was Nov 30th. The kennel operator wanted to keep her as pet but that was not in the cards. He gave her to GreySave for a loving adopter to keep her safe, war & loved.

Mac - Adopted and living in Hurricane UT
Racing Name: Mac's Razor
Age: 4.2 Sex: M Color: Brindle
Homecoming Ht: 29.75 Wt: 70.0
Medium dog - Y, Small dog - Y, Cat tolerant - Y
mac is an adorable and very happy boy greyhound. he initially struggled a bit with his vision when it came to getting around the house and up / down the stairs but slowly continued to improve, and he now handles the stairs no problem and can make his way around the entire house and yard just as good as all the other greyhounds. he was diagnosed with progressive retinal atrophy, a genetic eyesight condition which will leave his vision permanently impaired and down the line likely will be blind, but that doesn't seem to bother him much as he's basically always excited to be in the mix and a part of the fun. he is very much a shadow dog and just wants to be where his people are. he finds comfortable spots wherever he can, whether on the dog beds, on the floor or a little bit of both. his friendly yet boisterous presence is very endearing and he really has learned to love attention via pets, scratches and praise. he walks very well on a leash and is always interested to look at the other dogs on a walk. he also rides exceptionally well in the car. he loves belly scratches and has a great appetite as well. he really just wants to be right next to his person so he can feel like part of the family and fulfilled in his companion role.

Destin - Adopted and living in Sherman Oaks
Racing Name: Arroyo Destin
Age: 2.6 Sex: M Color: Red Fawn
Homecoming Ht: 28 Wt: 63.6
Medium dog - Y, Small dog - Y, Cat tolerant - TBD
Destin is a handsome, gentle and loving soul. He is very smart and very much a quick learner. He walks well on a leash and responds positively to verbal correction. While he is obedient and will respond well to verbal commands he would be very happy to lay on the grass and explore outdoor spaces.
He loves to play with toys and is good around other greyhounds and tested OK with small dogs. Though he is still has a bit of curious nature and is interested in "moving things". He is very affectionate and likes to be hugged and caressed. He will come to you for some loving when he wants it... which is just about always. Destin likes to be around people and will lay by your side for hours on end. He is also a good non-fussy eater and looks forward to "food time" . Overall Destin is transitioning nicely into retirement and is going to nake a wonderful companion.

Slim - Adopted and living Santa Clarita
Racing Name: Tv's Draco
Age: 3.1 Sex: M Color: White & Black
Homecoming Ht: 29.0 - Wt: 83
Medium dog - Y, Small dog - W Cat tolerant - TBD
Slim is a sweet boy who gets along with everyone. When he sees a new person more likely than not his tail will wag like a helicopter. At first I wasn’t sure he would allow my much smaller Whippet foster mate to boss him around but he has shown his colors and is always the one to back down. He really is quite submissive.
He likes car rides and meeting other dogs. He didn’t know what all these different breeds, shapes, and sizes meant at first but he has figured out dogs come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. At first he thought little dogs were rabbits but after a sniff and a proper introduction he is accepting of all the different the canines he’s met.
He was retired due to a broken leg that was repaired a few months ago. He probably will always favor that leg to some degree but it doesn’t keep him from going on long walks, jumping into a tall SUV, or running at 90% of his racing speed.
He’s a dog that would welcome being with other dogs but could be the only dog if he get plenty of human interaction.

Cabrera - Adopted and living in Glendale
Racing Name: Cabrera
Age: 3.9 Sex: F Color: Black
Homecoming Ht: 27.25 Wt: 61.0
Medium dog - Y, Small dog -N, Cat tolerant - N
Cabrera is a sweet girl who has fallen into the routine of our home well. She loves a good dog bed, but will compromise by laying on bath mats or the kitchen mat if all the dog beds are taken. She has started learning to play with toys and likes to take them out into the back yard and add to her collection! Cabrera like to counter surf, but responds to a curt "no" or loud hand clap and is learning the rules of the home quickly. Cabrera is good on the leash, and walks well solo and with our other greyhounds. She has a high prey drive and loves to chase squirrels on our walks. We do take care to make sure we cross the street if any small dogs are near.
Cabrera seems to enjoy the company of her foster brother and sisters (two greyhounds and a weimaraner) but she seems to prefer the company of her people just as much. She sleeps in a bed right under her foster dad's feet while he works.
