HEALTH-GREYHOUNDS ARE DIFFERENT: Blood Chemestry
Greyhound Blood References and Chemistry Differences - If you ask a veterinarian they probably all will answer that they are fully aware the Greyhound blood chemistry is different is correct but oversimplified. You would be amazed at how different their blood cell counts but if you ask more detailed questions you probably will find out that their knowledge is not quite as specific as you would like. But if your vet sends the blood work out for testing at a national laboratory like IDEXX or Antech listing your dogs breed as a greyhound the report they get back probably will indicate some of the range differences for greyhounds, but maybe not all of them. If your vet is using in-house testing their test reference range may not be adjusted for greyhounds.
