GreySave is an all-volunteer group, but greyhound adoption fees pay only some of our expenses. As GreySave begins its third year of operation, you have the opportunity to help with those additional costs and to enjoy special privileges as an official GreySave Benefactor for 2008-2009. The Need Just two years ago, in 2006, GreySave became a California Charitable Corporation and a 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit organization. Lots of greyt things have happened since then! For example, in just two years, we have brought in more than 180 greyhounds. And, although we are pretty proud of what we have accomplished, we realize that greyhounds end their racing careers every day and need our help to find their "Forever Homes." We are very fortunate to have a network of volunteers and friends who have proven time and again that there is no limit to what can be accomplished for these wonderful animals when we work together. Their commitment to making a better life for these hounds is remarkable.
Recently more and more greyhounds have been leaving the track with significant injuries such as broken legs. To care for such injured dogs we have established the GreytLove Fund. With your generous support as a GreySave Benefactor, we can continue to provide every one of these wonderful dogs, even those facing significant medical challenges, with everything they deserve: lots of love, a home, and a future. The GreytLove Fund Some greyhounds come to GreySave with broken legs or other injuries, an illness, or a disease. These dogs need specialized medical care. That care can cost us 15 to 20 times more than it does to prepare a healthy dog. But leaving these ill and injured dogs behind. Once they are healthy again, they can lead long, happy lives. We've established the GreytLove Fund for these dogs. Everything donated to this fund is used exclusively for our foster greyhounds with special medical needs. We need your help to make sure that they can get the care they so desperately need and deserve.
